About Us

Lookie Lou Dressage & Cross Training is about our lives with the horses thy are part of our lives.

Paul Reese, my husband and trainer, has been working with horses since he was 8 years old. Over the years, he has developed his skills in dressage. He has ridden up to Prix St. George on a thoroughbred horse named Ay Calypso. He has trained with both michael & Sharon Poulin over the years.

Paul has been driving horses since 2009. He has trained with Bob Giles and others in order to refine his skills for the sport. Right now, Paul’s primary driving pony is Buddy. Every time they show, Buddy get better.

As for myself, my name is Barbara Brooke-Reese and I am just the writer, Paul’s navigator and one of the drivers that make up our horse community. I don’t ride horses anymore because of vertigo, so I drive.

We only own one horse right now. Little Dude is a 37.75″ (95cm) miniature horse. He was born in 2002. We first met him when he was 7 years old un-handled stallion. I fell in love at first sight. He has been our project ever since. Little Dude is my primary driving horse but Paul is Little Dude’s primary driver. I work a full-time job as a systems analyst, so Paul drives Little Dude during the week. I also don’t take very many lessons because I married a very good trainer that has been able deal with me and Little Dude.

Other horses that are part of our program right now are…
Buddy – thoroughbred/welsh cross.
Big Ben – a 17 hand thoroughbred with a heart of gold.
Jack-Jack – an Arabian/Clydesdale Cross that came from my parents place.
